As an attorney, I am passionate about protecting my neighbors and their rights from a system that is designed to take advantage of them.  I talk to people who are suffering from injuries, or who have lost someone they love in an accident.  I get passionate about protecting.

Our jury system and the laws that were designed to protect injured Ohioans have been severely damaged by the greed of corporate, medical and other special interests.  The popular notion of an attorney out to get unreasonable amounts of money for frivolous lawsuits is a false picture.  This myth has allowed Ohio's laws to become severely restricted when it comes to recovering financially from an accident or injury.  In fact, many Ohioans can't even recover the actual amount of their medical expenditures.  I am here to help protect you from a system which you believed was put in place to insure you, but which has every incentive to sacrifice your well being for profit.

My name is Mike Piacentino and I'm your neighbor. My family has been committed to representing the personal injury claims of Marion, Ohio, since 1949. I grew up here, went to school with many of you, coached our kids, and served on local boards to try and make our community better. At Piacentino & Piacentino Link to Attorney Profiles Page, we aren't interested in just being another law firm; we're interested in our neighbors receiving the best legal representation possible.

I talk to people suffering from injuries who have lost trust in the system because of the behavior of insurance adjusters, hired investigators, medical professionals and their own insurance companies. Why should they to do anything except take your money?

I believe I AM a different kind of lawyer. I don't see my clients through telephones, tv ads, unreturned messages and large staffs.  The front door of my office is open any time, and I personally invite people to stop by and visit to see that we're more than a business; we're part of the community. And, best of all, I work on a contingency fee basis, which means you don't owe me anything until your case is resolved.

I have 35 years of experience, and my passion is in taking a stand for my neighbors against a system that too often fails them. Whether you've lost someone you love, been injured in a car accident and can't get the insurance company to pay what they owe you, when the workers' compensation system or your employer is failing you, or when you've been wronged and need a lawyer who is passionate about getting you the results and money you're entitled to, I want to talk to you Link to Contact Us.

When I'm not practicing the law I am spending time out-of-doors with my family.  You'll often see me on my bicycle in the parks, back roads, streets and beaches of Ohio, Catawba and Kelly's Island.  I used to be an avid marathon runner, but as a vertebrae injury I experienced playing football at Notre Dame advanced I'm not able to enjoy some of those things.  This gives me a unique understanding of my clients and what they're facing.  I understand from my own experience how an injury may seem less to begin with, but advance in severity and complexity over time.

I am a sport fisherman, and in July you'll usually find me aboard my 41' commercial fishing boat June Bug. Alaska is an awe-inspiring place, and I am forever in awe at her beauty and scenic splendor.  I have a deep respect for the priceless resource wild salmon and the environments where they live. We only catch what we need, sending back fresh-caught ocean fish to individuals and some of the finest restaurants all across the United States.  Never frozen, within 48 hours of coming out of the ocean.  The only other place you can taste the freshness of this salmon is in Alaska itself!

I love the out-of-doors, and the experience of nature's grandeur.  I enjoy boating, fishing, skiing and tubing with my family on Lake Erie.  My family and I enjoy a well prepared meal!  I am a chef who enjoys preparing Italian and vegetarian dinners with my kids, Rocco and Gina.  We often compete to share new and delightful recipes with one another and my extended family!  I am a veracious reader of histories, mysteries and biographies.
